Test Sites, Dates & Procedures

 

Tests are offered around the country throughout the year. Pencil and paper written tests and performance tests are offered at RID test sites and proctored by Local Test Administrators (LTAs). Computer based tests are offered at test sites managed by CASTLE Worldwide, Inc. Learn more about test site procedures>>

RID is always looking to expand the number of sites where testing is offered. Find out what it takes to become an RID test site.

Pencil-and-Paper Tests:

These are offered on the first Saturday of June and December throughout the country. They are also offered at the RID national office in Alexandria, Va., every second and fourth Friday of each month throughout the year. The following are the test dates and deadlines for the tests not held at the national office.

Application and payment must be received at the national office by the deadline. Applications postmarked on the day of deadline will not be accepted.

Computer-Based Tests

This is offered for the NIC Knowledge exam through CASTLE Worldwide, Inc.

Once a candidate has applied and paid for the test, s/he will receive a receipt letter (via postal mail or e-mail). The receipt letter will direct the candidate to CASTLE’s website, where s/he can register for his or her preferred site, date and time.

The candidate will receive a confirmation email from CASTLE in three to five business days.

Performance Tests

These are offered at supersites and regional testing centers (RTC)

Once a candidate has received a receipt letter from RID, s/he should contact the supersite of his or her choice to schedule a testing date.

Candidates choosing to test at an RTC will be contacted by RID to schedule a testing slot.
Steps to Schedule a Performance Test at an RTC

The NIC Interview and Performance exam is only offered at supersites.
